Week 7

Yeah, I busted through the plateau!!!!!! I checked on Friday last week and I had lost a pound. Then I weighed in on Monday, and I was down 2 more. I am currently at 214.3!!! Yeah! I am so grateful that something is finally working for me. And something that I don't have to really "think" about.  It is so easy. Granted there are days when I am super busy and have a harder time getting all my protein in, but for the most part, it is something that I don't really have to think about. 2 shakes a day, high protein snacks, and a healthy colorful dinner (meal) and I am good to go. :) How simple is that? I mean really?
I feel great. I am not feeling deprived, or hungry all the time, and the shakes are nummy. They don't have that chalky yucky blah aftertaste like some I have used in the past. You know the ones where you have to plug your nose and gulp them down as fast as you can so you can get them down LOL! And then you drink a ton of water to rinse that nasty taste out! Well these are so much better than that. I mean the shake I make for lunch is better than a Jack in the Box milkshake. I love the combination of the Dutch Chocolate and Banana. Makes my mouth water the closer I get to lunch. And the Cafe' Latte that we have for breakfast is like drinking a Starbucks Frap with out the thousand calories! I am getting really excited for the rest of summer. I will have the energy I need to do whatever I want! And I will look good doing it!! I love this feeling. I love knowing that each day I am giving my body exactly what it needs to heal itself. I love that I don't have to kill myself with counting calories, and spend hours upon hours working out. I can do 30 minutes of exercise a day, and I am good. I don't have to find the time to do more. I can still have a normal life. And I can still eat the foods that I love. I am just smarter about my choices and instead of getting fries at a restaurant, I get the salad with dressing on the side. I make sure that I get lots of veggies, and I will pile my hamburger with lettuce and tomato's and veggies and leave off the mayo. I don't miss the mayo :) I still have a great messy hamburger, and I am still making better choices.

Here's to week 8 and new measurements, and more inches lost! :)

Week 6

Still in the plateau. I didn't gain anything, and I only lost 2 oz. I will take that. With as stressed out as I have been with everything that has been going on, and not getting ANY exercise in, I am actually counting it as a loss. Since I normally would have gained, and gained huge.
Dad didn't come home as he was super weak in the hospital so it is back to rehab. And so it was also a tough week trying to get that all sorted out.

I am starting back into my running training program. I really want to be able to run/jog by the end of summer. I hope that Charger will appreciate it. He loves to run, and right now, I can't keep up with him, or run far enough for him before I have to slow down. He however, hates it when I am on the treadmill, and he barks his head off at me the whole time. It is actually kinda cute.

I am still enjoying the shakes and have even been able to make it work with the craziness that has been my life the last two weeks.

So here is to a better week, and busting through this plateau!

Week 5

I hit my first platue. I didn't loose anything last week, but I also didn't gain. I will take it. My life was super crazy last week, and extremely stressful. I know that my I didn't get all my protein in every day and that I just have to keep working towards my goals. This is a minor setback, and hopefully I can make up for it this week.

Just to give you a little incite into my crazy week, On Tuesday, we had to take the race bike to the engine builder to have it fixed, and then on Wednesday, we had to put our beloved Whiskey down after 15 1/2 years. And my heart was just broken, and then on Thursday, I brought Dad home from the skilled nursing facility he was in. So Friday was crazy trying to get back into a routine. The weekend went pretty well. Saturday anyway, my husband and I decided to plant our garden. We planted potatoes. cucumber's, pumpkin, tomatoes. cabbage, onions, cauliflower, peas. jalapenos and radish's. I am excited.

But then on Sunday just as we were getting ready to start our day of chore's, Dad had a major coughing fit and collapsed a lung again. So Ambulance trip to the ER, and then waiting around for admittance.
Hopefully as long as Dad doesn't get any infections he should be home in a few days.

So needless to say I didn't get much exercise in last week with everything else that was going on, and  I am OK with the fact that I hit my first platue. I am in this for the long haul.

I still feel so freaking awesome though. I don't feel deprived at all, and the shakes are very filling, and easy. I don't have to think about portion size's. And Dinner's are fun. Trying to figure out how to add colors and flavor's with out adding extra not so great for us stuff!

Well I better run and plan my menu and shopping list for the next two weeks.

Week 4 completed

I know that I am now half way through week 5, but week for was good. I weighed in last Friday and I was down another 2.6 pounds. I had hubby do my measurements on Monday night and I have lost a couple inches on my belly and about 1/2 inch everywhere else. I am still doing well. I still have tons of energy and I am not feeling super hungry or deprived. Week 4 was a little tougher because Cody was gone to a race, and I was home alone with Sis. However I did find some stuff that I could nuke for the two of us and still eat really healthy. I really like the Gordon's Fish that are already seasoned. The Garlic and Lemon Pepper ones are really good. Plus I got some steamed veggies that Cody doesn't really like, like Brussels sprouts and also broccoli, cauliflower and carrots with cheese steamers. Cody doesn't like broccoli at all, and he won't eat cooked cauliflower.

Cody started the shakes on Monday. I have been making them for us in the morning and then making one for him to take to work for lunch. We will see how he does as well.

I also have been doing a ton of yard work getting the yard ready for the BBQ we are hosting in a couple weeks as well as getting our garden area ready to plant. I can't wait to get our first home grown veggies of the year. We are going to do onions, potatoes, radishes, cauliflower, cabbage, cucumbers, peas, jalapenos and pumpkins  Oh and tomatoes as well. I need to get those plants still. Plus I will also try and grow some cilantro again this year. It did great the first year I had it, but the last two have kinda sucked.

The next few weeks are going to be interesting to see how well I do with Dad coming home tomorrow. I know that he is going to take up most of my time, and I am not sure how much exercise I will be able to get in. But I will also be going up and down the stairs a bunch so it may balance out.

Thank all of you for your support.
